My 2019 Goals

Hello and happy new year everyone and welcome to my first post of 2019. I Hope you had a brilliant Christmas and new year, I’m not going to lie going back to work this week has been a bit of a shock to the system after a very lazy and chilled 2 weeks off. But I’m raring to go again and even have some new goals for this year. I’m not going to call them resolutions as I feel I never stick wto any I make, instead goals for the year are something I can work towards – and If I write them down and speak about them, I’m more likely to stick to them!

So here goes –

  1. Be Happier – This is by far my main goal not only for this year but well always, last year I was stressed and unhappy to say the least. I want to work on more self care for my mental health, take time out and just enjoy the moment. How I’m trying this – a lot less screen time. I am constantly refreshing my Instagram, twitter, Facebook feeds and for what? Instead in the evening before bed I’ve turned to reading. I’ve finished my first book this year in 3 days and just fell in love with reading again, I’ve just started my second book, and my mood has started to improve already, with that and getting up early – making a proper breakfast and not rushing. All these little things help me feel less stressed and just be in a generally better mood.
  2. Be healthier – One of the most common goals I’m sure people set each year. I’m currently following the slimming wold plan without following it. I’ve done it enough times I know the guide to it, and there is so much inspiration for meals on pinterest and Instagram – there are multiple reasons for doing this, I want to loose weight, I want to feel better and fitter and I want to fall pregnant this year, and be as healthy as I possibly can to carry the baby to full term. That is my main motivation – Not only eating better but as I just said I want to be fitter, taking Luna for walks helps, and I’m taking part in the aspire swim challenge this year which starts in a few weeks time. Swim the distance of the English channel over 12 weeks in aid of Aspire who raise money for those who are paralysed by spinal cord injury.
  3. Focus – I want to put more into my blog this year, I want to focus, plan and put out the best content I can. Writing and taking photo’s is my passion, and I want to work as hard as I can on it, and see where we can go with it! The plan is for 2 posts a week, Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings plus a weekly vlog on a Monday evening over on my youtube channel. I would also like to maybe give my blog a bit of a re brand, a logo and make it looker fresher ready for a bigger and better year!
  4. Make more time – It is so easy for weeks to go by without catching up with friends, and even with my husband Pete it’s easy for months to pass without a date night where its just us and we go out and properly talk and enjoy each others company. Something that is so simple, but so easy to overlook when you’re tired, life gets hectic or it’s January and its cold and everyone’s broke. I want to make more time, even if it’s popping over a text each week to friends I haven’t seen in a while, or an occasional face time catch up when life schedules get in the way. If you’re reading this and you’re a close friend I haven’t seen in a while – I’m sorry, I will be better!!

So there it is, my goals for the year – 4 big ones with other sub categories in each. I’m hoping for 2019 to be a better year, and I’m determined to make it a better year!

I would love to know if you set yourself goals at the beginning of the year and what they are?

Happy new year again, and I’ll be back on Sunday with another post!

In the mean time I post a lot on my Instagram, so feel free to come over and say hi!
