Mojitos!

4,096 total views, 1 views today

One of my favourites things about summer is having the bbq on with friends and family and a cocktail in hand. A personal favourite being a mojito! Although as i write this post it is very grey and windy outside! English weather eh!?

Here i made 4 different mojitos and enjoyed each one so thought i would share with you! I ended up using lemonade as my mixer, my original plan was soda water but i didn’t love how it came out, but its personal preference so just use whatever you fancy!

The four mojitos i made were coconut, strawberry, classic mojitio and a kiwi and blueberry mojito! (Also how cute are these glasses & straws!! Glasses were 75p each in ikea, and i found the pack of straws in stewarts garden centre!)

Lets start with the coconut!

Coconut Mojito

  • 35ml White rum
  • 35m Coconut rum
  • 1 lime
  • 2oz coconut milk
  • mint leave
  • lemonade or soda water
  • ice

I added coconut milk, the juice from 1 lime and a few mint leaves into a cocktail shaker & shook until the coconut milk had gone to a smooth liquid consistency. i then added the rum and coconut rum and shook. I filled the glass up with ice, poured over the contents of the shaker and topped up with lemonade. I finished by garnishing with mint leaves.

Strawberry Mojito

  • 35 ml White rum
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • mint leaves
  • strawberries
  • 1 lime
  • lemonade or soda water

I muddled the mint leaves, sugar, strawberries and juice from the lime together. i added Ice on top into the glass, poured in the white rum and lemonade, added a few more strawberries into the glass and on the top to garnish!

Classic / Mint Mojito

  • 35ml White rum
  • 2tsp sugar
  • mint leaves
  • 1 lime
  • lemonade or soda water

This is the same recipe as the strawberry mojito but without the stawberries! Yum!

Kiwi & Blueberry Mojito

  • 5 kiwis
  • small punnet of blueberries
  • 1 lime
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • mint leaves
  • 35ml white rum
  • lemonade or soda water

First i cut up 4 kiwis and quartered them adding them to a glass along with a handful of blueberries, lime juice from one lime, mint leaves and 2 tsp sugar and muddled all together. I topped with ice and the white rum, adding more kiwi slices and blueberries to the glass, finishing with lemonade and adding some garnishes to the glass!

This was definitely my favourite of the mojitos, and will definitely be making them all again!

Whats your favourite go to cocktail?

Hope you enjoyed this post!
