As I mentioned in my first Blogtober Post Halloween is one of my favourite parts of the year, So I thought for today’s post I would rewind it back and show you a few of my Halloween Parties & Outfits!
This was probably the first year I threw a proper Halloween Party, my mum and I dressed the whole of the downstairs and raided Peeks Party store for a lot of props – most of which I still have and use them now – Like this skeleton, and other bits that keep well – Spiderwebs we buy every year. 2 Out of 10 for effort. Black dress and cat ears! But I’m sure nearly everyone has thrown together something similar!
At a friends house party and I truly have no idea what we were trying to be – zombies with fairy wings, and if all else fails slap on a bit of fake blood – This was when I started becoming more interested in Halloween makeup (Not that you can tell! Ha!) But I’d seen someone do a sfx of a bullet wound on youtube, so thats what that slab of blood and tissue is on our necks. I’m happy to say my skills in makeup have most definitely improved since then!
Definitely the year I attempted more sexy than scary ( not sure how well I pulled it off) How Hilarious does my friend look in her pumpkin costume though! We went out into town for Halloween that year both wearing this, and she kept bumping everyone out the way with her pumpkin skirt. hahaha oh the memories!
The year I was pregnant with J, again we went to a friends house and I thought I’d make use out of having a bump as I was 7 months pregnant at the time. Good old pinterest!
This was Mine and Pete’s our first Halloween party since living together. I was working for Anne Summers at the time hense the outfit – and was studying beauty therapy and makeup and this was the beginnings of my love for theatrical/horror makeup – obviously a long way to go but I did mine and Pete’s and at the time was very happy with it!
New Flat, New decorations – my love for decorating the whole place started here and I definitely made more effort on the flat than my costume! This years theme was Chop shop!
The year my bestie and I partnered up and became witches. Cute witches with primark accessories and silver hairspray ( which was VERY sticky!) Lesson learnt there!
This year I did 100 days of makeup on my instagram and fully fell back in love with makeup – I ended up not only doing my makeup for this party but 3 other friends too including Vicky’s red riding hood gore below.
Last years we went Haunted Circus theme – Pete and I were a duo – he was the skeleton magician, and I was his nearly headless assistant!
So it’s clear to see I’ve loved Halloween for a while – and I cannot wait for this years – The event has been made, now to decide what this year we’re going to be!
Do you dress up over Halloween? If so, whats your go-to costume!? I’d love to know!
