If you’ve been reading my blog for a while then you will know I am a blogger ambassador for weymouth sealife Centre. (this does mean we get annual passes Gifted to us for the year to share our views on the events that go on there.)
I have been to weymouth sealife as a kid, and now I get to share it with my little ones, one of them is only 2 months so I can’t vouch for him, but my 7 year old absolutely loves it here. There are plenty of different sections to wander round and see the animals, as well as a huge play park and a splash zone for summer time.
This time around we headed down for their jawsome sharks top trumps event. This is being held up until April 26th. (so still plenty of time to head over and get involved.)
We’ve been to quite a few events at Weymouth, and whilst all brilliant, this has been J’s favourite so far – we also went along with his cousins (ages ranging from 4 – 11) and they all said how much fun they had.

The aim of the game is to find 5 different top trumps cards located around the tanks, noting down the animal and size as you go around. Some cards more hidden than others depending on whether the stings rays fancy a nap on them or not.

You then get to take your results over to professor Finn’s cabin – where he has lots of sharks teeth and fossils to talk about.

Not only that, but each child gets given a top trumps card of their own at the beginning, and is able to challenge staff throughout the park to try and win more cards. This was the kids favourite part, as they could then show each other the different animals they had won! Don’t forget to challenge everyone, although by lunch time some staff had run out of cards (so that would be my only qualm of the day.)
We also had a great day looking around with our hot chocolates in hand. (costa on site, so of course I took advantage of the gingerbread hot chocolate.) The weather was absolutely shocking, but a lot of the buildings are inside so don’t let the rain put you off!

A fun day out for all the family, and the staff are always incredibly friendly and knowledgeable if you have any questions on the animals. We’re excited to be heading back in a few weeks time to see their new refurb they’ve been working on. So keep your eyes peeled here for that!
Big thank you to weymouth as always for having us. As I said at the beginning, our tickets were Gifted but these are all my own thoughts and opinions! Speak to you next time x
