Enjoying the sun with Brothers Cider *

Picture this – the sun is out, the bbq is on, tunes are playing and you’re surrounded by your favourite people, can I give you a little tip on how to make it even better? An ice cold refreshingly fruity cider in your hand. When I picture this scenario there is only one brand that comes to mind- and that is Brothers Cider.

I have been a huge brothers fan for years! It makes me feel so nostalgic drinking it remembering all the beach fires, pub visits and house parties that these drinks accompanied me with. I love their fruity and quirky flavours especially the toffee apple being a firm favourite for me.

I am always so excited to try their new flavours and loved the rhubarb and custard they brought out a few years ago, so when they released their brand new Parma violet cider I could not wait to give it a try, being a huge lover of the retro sweets! Brothers Cider* very kindly sent over a case of the Parma violet to try and a case of their famous toffee apple flavour. So we invited some friends round over the bank holiday, chilled the ciders and tried the new flavour together!

The scent of this cider is unreal and smells exactly like Parma violets! Which to me is just heavenly, the taste however is more like a sweet dark berry and it is absolutely delicious. I asked a couple of friends who weren’t a fan of the Parma violet sweets and even if they started out a little sceptical with the Parma violet smell they were pleasantly surprised with the fruity flavour!

Now as you probably know I’m a big cocktail lover (I’m sure I say this in nearly every post) so I couldn’t wait to incorporate the cider into a cocktail, all we hear at the moment is Parma violet gin cocktails so here’s one for the cider fans and one that takes seconds to make and doesn’t have a thousand ingredients in.

Ice and lemon slice your glass with a few added raspberries, add a measure of coconut rum, fill your glass 3/4 of the way with the Parma violet brothers cider and top with lemonade – and voila here is the coco-violet. A perfect sweet and fruity drink to enjoy on hot summer days, and once you’ve finished you’ve then got cider infused raspberries to enjoy! Delicious!

Brothers ciders keep coming up with some amazing new flavours, the newest being Parma violet and strawberries and cream, but also offer toffee apple, rhubarb & custard, strawberry & lime, wild fruit and that’s just to name a few.

I imagine you have heard about brothers cider but in the off chance you’ve been missing out you can find more about them Here and what other flavours they have to offer, plus take a look at their recipe page on their website – the sorbet is amazing (although we tried ours with the toffee apple cider) – and now I feel like it’s something I always need in our freezer! Even if you don’t class yourself as a huge cider fan, I can guarantee they will have a flavour you will love. I’m not a traditional pear cider lover but adore all of the Brothers flavours!

A huge thank you to Brothers for sending us some ciders to try – as mentioned these were gifted to us for the purpose of this post, but all thoughts and opinions are 100% honest and my own! Xo
