Last night hubby and I went on date night! Pete has wanted to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean for a while, so we thought we’d make a night of it, Jacob stayed at Granny & Gramps’ house for the night, and we went to the BH2 cinema (The film was amazing by the way – I loved every second of it!) followed by dinner at Las Iguanas.
We wanted to try somewhere new and Las Iguanas has just opened up at BH2 this week, so we thought it was the perfect opportunity to try. We booked online for 7.30pm so we wouldn’t have to rush after the film, we ended up being 15 minutes early but they still seated us straight away and began running through the menu with us! The staff were incredibly friendly and quick to ask if we wanted more drinks, and gave their suggestions on whats good on the menus.
After browsing their drinks menu’s I decided on a pina colada & Pete had a virgin strawberry daiquiri ( as he was driving.) They both tasted amazing, and it was by far the best pina colada I have tasted (& I’ve sampled a fair few!) Even better is the drinks were all 2 4 1 all day everyday! Amazing!!
The menu was incredible, so much variety that I found it difficult to choose. We decided to share a taco plank to start – we went for the Havana club & jerk BBQ pork with pink pickled onion, crispy onion & chilli. There are also five other different fillings you can choose from. I definitely recommend this dish! It was so tasty, with a little, but not too much heat from the chilli, and the presentation was beautiful.
Next up was the main course. Pete went for Buenos Aires Burger – which is also their national burger award winner & Pete can definitely vouch for that saying it was one of the best burgers he’s tried!
I went for the smoked chipotle chicken burrito, which again was absolutely delicious. It had a bit of a kick to it, but they put a side of guacamole, soured cream and a roasted tomato salsa to cool it down. These pictures are making me so hungry that i could eat it all over again now!
Even though we were stuffed after all our food, we had spied churros on the menu & had decided that we were going to get them regardless! Eyes bigger than our belly! We however were not dissapointed, we had the 6 churros to share which came with a chocolate dip as well as a salted caramel dip. Both amazing, but the salted caramel dip was definitely my favourite!
I cannot speak highly enough of Las Iguanas and we are already planning for when we can come back again. The food, drinks, atmosphere and the staff were impeccable. Even when it started getting busier around 8pm, the service was still fantastic. I couldn’t find one fault and will definitely be recommending to everyone!
