Cosy Autumn Room Makeover

I love changing bits around in the house, with my taste constantly changing I enjoy changing up the colours, adding bits and taking away the clutter, and luckily Pete gives me near enough free reign with the house decor.

I have always loved the idea of the bedroom being a haven, somewhere I can go to zone out or relax and read a book. I like to change it up with the seasons by changing the bedding and cushions, and once September started, I decided our pretty palm leaf needed to go.

Firstly I changed the bedding to a black and white bedding set that we’ve rotated in and out a couple of times. We have a grey feature wall behind the bed so the neutral colours look really nice together.

Cushions are my weakness, Pete cannot for the life of him understand why I buy them and love them, as all he does is chuck them on the floor when its time for bed – but they are SO pretty, and make the bed look comfortable and cosy. I picked up two new ones from Matalan ( OBSESSED with matalan homeware by the way!!) The white cushion and the grey long cushion! How blaaddy cute!

As you may know I also am mega obsessed with candles – I think its a sickness and I can’t stop buying them and have no place for all of them! Ooops! Except for this one again which I picked up in Matalan for £4 – Bargain! The colour is cute and autumnal and it smells divine!

Now for the main part of the room – which I think ties it all together, and quite frankly I’m so in love with the look. The gorge fairy lights* draped over the wall. These are from a company called LEDthelife who sell their lights through their amazon shop called Diolumia. The lights themselves are called the Diolumia 10M string fairy lights, and they come with a little remote ( which I LOVE) I have other battery powered lights draped across the bed, but it can be a pain to have to find the battery pack in the dark and switch them off. These you just press the off button on the remote and voila. They also have 8 different settings and a dimmer switch if they’re too bright for you.

How cute has it made the room look and they are perfect to see me into winter and the christmas period too. I love how fairy lights can quite literally transform your room, and look good all year round!

I hope you’ve enjoyed a little peek into what is becoming one of my favourite rooms in the house – now to autumn up the other side of the room!

I think Luna has also shown this is one of her fave rooms too! What more could you want than puppy cuddles, candles burning and your fairy lights on making your room glow. Laaave it!

P.S In case you fancy these lights for yourself here’s a cheeky little link.

*The fairy lights were gifted to me with the purpose of a review – but as always my thought and opinions are honest and all my own.
