Cocktails at Be at one in Bournemouth

One of my favourite things in life are cocktails. I love them, and am always up for trying new drinks – so when an email dropped in my inbox asking if I’d like to try some cocktails at Be at one in Bournemouth I jumped at the chance.

I had never been to Be at one before, but had heard great things and I was not disappointed. I went along with some of the lovely Bournemouth Bloggers; Emma, Harrison, Jaye, Mel & Zosha. We were met by the lovely Jo who introduced us to our bar tender for the evening James who made us all a Bellini to start our evening.

I could have browsed my menu for hours – there is so much choice – over 100 different cocktails! And one thing I love is the beautiful imagery in the menu, I love being able to see what I’m going to order, it definitely sways my decision.

Jo explained to us about the extensive training that Be at ones bar staff go through, being able to memorise over 100 different recipes at a time and being able to free pour the drinks they are serving – very impressive!

It was such a lovely evening chatting to the bar staff and hearing how much they genuinely love their job, and how good they are at it spinning shakers up into the air and including us in mixing some of the cocktails.

There were so many delicious sounding drinks to choose from that i actually found it quite hard to make a decision, but if you know me, you will know I’m a sucker for a pina colada, I like to think of myself as a pina colada connoisseur I’ve tried so many! So of course when I read the ingredients to a ‘baller colada’ I was instantly sold. Ciroc Pineapple Vodka, Mumm Champagne, Pineapple, coconut and finished with some sparkling dust which gives it the perfect look for your instagram.

Just looking at this picture is making my mouth water remembering how good it tasted! Not only that but the glitter dust makes it feel so special! A definite winner for me!

My second drink was actually chosen and recommended for me by Be at ones app. You download it on your phone, and it comes up with lots of options like fruity, sour, vodka, rum and you tick which ones you like and it will give you a selection of cocktails that are your preference! What a great idea! Jo had already recommended me trying one of their frozen cocktails, so when one appeared on the app for me I couldn’t wait to try it!

I ordered the ‘Popster’ and it was like drinking melted popcorn! It was unreal – the ingredients were Butterscotch scnapps, sweet and salty popcorn and vanilla ice cream that had been blended up, with another handful of popcorn on the top. Beautiful! I probably wouldn’t have tried one of the frozen cocktails, as its not something i’d think to go for, but I loved trying something new, and is definitely a new favourite! Zosha also ordered one of the Crunch time frozen cocktails and again was just like drinking an alcoholic crunchie milkshake!

Everyone ordered two drinks each and each chose so many different types of drinks – one had banoffee foam on top, one tasted like a petite filous yogurt and one had a spray of absinthe to finish it off. A true medley of drinks, and each so tasty. I find some places I’ve been to in the past spend more time making the cocktail look good, but the taste is poor, but I can guarantee not only do the cocktails look incredible at Be at one they taste unbelievable – they also had a fantastic range of non alcoholic mock-tails for the designated driver, so they can still enjoy a night out without sipping on lemonade the whole night.

Thank you so much to Be at One for having us, and for Emma who runs Bournemouth Bloggers for organising. I have recommending the cocktails to all my family and friends, and can’t wait to come back down to try more of their extensive menu. Also huge shout out to Harrison and James who were our bar tenders for the evening, I loved watching all the drinks being made and learning what was in them.

Definitely go check them out next time your in Bournemouth / they have a few different locations so make sure you see where your nearest is!

*Be at One invited us down to try some of their cocktails on them in return for a blog post – however all thoughts and opinions are my own.
