Blogmas day 5 – A look back over 2017

I know it’s only the 5th, and any other month it would still be classed as early in the month, but December feels like its whizzing by! 20 days to go! How exciting!

I thought I’d have a little look back on what 2017 has brought, I do this every year, and I enjoy riffling through photos from the year.

2017 for me has been a very hard year, I suffered from a very early miscarriage at the beginning of the year ( This is actually the first time talking about it – and i’m still not sure whether this part will be published or not!) Its been really hard, & even though I would have only been 6 weeks – it didn’t make it any easier. BUT it has made me value my little family so much, and how bloody lucky I am to have them and have the constant support.

But with every low, there are plenty of highs, so lets look back at the positives of what this year has brought. My gorgeous little boy started school this year, and I can’t even begin to describe how proud of him that makes me, he can be incredibly shy at times, and has difficulty with his speech, but he has come on so much since being at school, and has made so many new friends!

Me and this one celebrated our two year wedding anniversary this year with a weekend in London. It was so lovely to get away and take time for ourselves, and is definitely something I want to do more of, I’m currently looking for quiet log cabins in the forest for next year, with a hot tub and a fire!

As well as hubbys and my anniversary in September, my brother also achieved something great that month, by completing an iron man triathlon in wales. Woowee, I have so much admiration for him, and we had the best family weekend away.  a 2.4 mile swim in the sea, a 112 mile bike ride and finishing up with 26.2 mile run! Crazy, he completed it in under 12 hours! Very proud of you Jimbo, always!

At the beginning of this year, we bought our first pet. Penny the african pygmy hedgehog! My god is she cute, and as we loved her so much, we decided to buy a second hedgehog, Pixie,  an albino african pygmy hedgehog in September! They are so funny, and have such personalities for such little things!

This year, has also been the year I’ve started doing more singing. I’ve always loved to sing, but have recently started in a band, and am gradually getting my confidence up! Who knows maybe next year, I’ll attempt a few more singing videos! 😉

Last but definitely not least, my favourite moment of this year, is we bought our house! I can’t believe we’ve been here nearly a year now, and how hectic it was last December trying to pack everything up. But we finally did and bought a house, in a beautiful location, and I feel incredibly lucky!

Reading this back, has shown that no matter how hard life gets, there is still brightness in every day. Heres a few more snaps that I love from this year, enjoy and happy blogmas day 5!
