Now we have a little one, it really makes Christmas so much more special, and we have started a few special traditions & fun outings I thought I would share!

  1. A visit to Santa – A must do, we’ve been to Stewarts garden center for 2 years now, I absolutely love it there as they have real reindeer & a winter wonderland walkway! Would recommend, but to book early as its popular!

2) We love putting together a gingerbread house or it has also been a rocky road house before. It takes an hour to put together and decorate, and about 5 minutes to eat it! Worth it 😉

3) Going to see the Christmas lights, there is a road near us where they light up the entire street, we have started going on the 1st of December every year, to get us in the festive spirit!

4) writing a letter to Santa and putting out mince pies and carrots. Jacob absolutely loves doing this, and his face in the morning when he sees Santa has been & eaten up his treats.

5) Lastly, one of my favourite things we do, a Christmas eve box with J. We like to put in a pair of new pj’s to wear that night, a Christmas book, a Christmas film and some yummy snacks to eat. I’m looking forward to building this years christmas eve box, and I can’t wait to share with you whats in it this year.

Hope you enjoyed this post, and catch you tomorrow for another day of blogmas!

As a huge fan of playing around with makeup I thought I would dedicate day 6 to this.

Whether you have a Christmas costume party, want to out do your fellow colleagues on Christmas jumper day, or want a smokey eye to go out with for your Christmas party, I hopefully have a few looks for some last minute inspo!

Lets start with the costume party looks! The Grinch and Reindeer!

I was inspired to try the Grinch last year whilst watching the film, there are lots of different versions, I attempted one with just face paints.

I LOVE this look! & a super cute makeup, if you are doing any kind of fancy dress!

I then have 3 party looks, all quite smokey eyes, but thats how I like to wear my makeup over the colder months!

I hope this has given you some inspo for any parties that may be coming your way, and if not, I always find a little bit of glitter always makes you look festive!

I know it’s only the 5th, and any other month it would still be classed as early in the month, but December feels like its whizzing by! 20 days to go! How exciting!

I thought I’d have a little look back on what 2017 has brought, I do this every year, and I enjoy riffling through photos from the year.

2017 for me has been a very hard year, I suffered from a very early miscarriage at the beginning of the year ( This is actually the first time talking about it – and i’m still not sure whether this part will be published or not!) Its been really hard, & even though I would have only been 6 weeks – it didn’t make it any easier. BUT it has made me value my little family so much, and how bloody lucky I am to have them and have the constant support.

But with every low, there are plenty of highs, so lets look back at the positives of what this year has brought. My gorgeous little boy started school this year, and I can’t even begin to describe how proud of him that makes me, he can be incredibly shy at times, and has difficulty with his speech, but he has come on so much since being at school, and has made so many new friends!

Me and this one celebrated our two year wedding anniversary this year with a weekend in London. It was so lovely to get away and take time for ourselves, and is definitely something I want to do more of, I’m currently looking for quiet log cabins in the forest for next year, with a hot tub and a fire!

As well as hubbys and my anniversary in September, my brother also achieved something great that month, by completing an iron man triathlon in wales. Woowee, I have so much admiration for him, and we had the best family weekend away.  a 2.4 mile swim in the sea, a 112 mile bike ride and finishing up with 26.2 mile run! Crazy, he completed it in under 12 hours! Very proud of you Jimbo, always!

At the beginning of this year, we bought our first pet. Penny the african pygmy hedgehog! My god is she cute, and as we loved her so much, we decided to buy a second hedgehog, Pixie,  an albino african pygmy hedgehog in September! They are so funny, and have such personalities for such little things!

This year, has also been the year I’ve started doing more singing. I’ve always loved to sing, but have recently started in a band, and am gradually getting my confidence up! Who knows maybe next year, I’ll attempt a few more singing videos! 😉

Last but definitely not least, my favourite moment of this year, is we bought our house! I can’t believe we’ve been here nearly a year now, and how hectic it was last December trying to pack everything up. But we finally did and bought a house, in a beautiful location, and I feel incredibly lucky!

Reading this back, has shown that no matter how hard life gets, there is still brightness in every day. Heres a few more snaps that I love from this year, enjoy and happy blogmas day 5!

I always have a fun image of what Baking with children looks like, both in aprons, helping each other measure out flour and then at the end you have these beautiful pinterest worthy cakes, except it never seems to go that way (well with us anyway)! Jacob usually gets bored, or walks out when the electric whisk is on as its too loud, and the cakes usually end up burnt. Mary Berry I am not!

So, when I was browsing pinterest for fun Christmas things to do with a 4 year old, and came across these cute snowman biscuits, so thought I’d give them ago too!

They are so easy, and can guarantee that these won’t cause any arguments (i hope!)

Now i used rich tea biscuits, but you can use any biscuit you like, or be brave and make your own! Make up some icing and spoon a bit on, with a marshmallow & then ice on a little scarf, buttons, arms, and a face.

I actually find some edible cake pens at sainsburys, and found them so easy, so would definitely recommend finding them!

So a nice and easy treat to make, and they taste amazing! Perfect Christmas snack for the kiddies to make!

Happy blogmas day 3! I am feeling ultra festive today, as yesterday we spent the day decorating the house ready for Christmas! We also went and bought a few outdoor lights which we haven’t put up yet, but very excited to see them!

I love seeing how people decorate their houses for christmas, and getting inspiration from pinterest, so I thought I’d show you a sneak peak of how we have decorated. I’m not 100% finished yet as i want to string some lights around the windows and hallways, but I thought i’d share what we have done so far.

Christmas this year is very exciting as its our first Christmas in this home, and I am LOVING it!

So let start with the lounge, where our main tree is!

I really wanted to have a proper theme this year, and I’ve got with blues, creams and bronzes, and I am so happy with how it turned out. (Although I will admit we had colour lights on the tree first, and I wasn’t happy with how it looked, so went out and bought white lights! ha ha commitment to the theme!)

How cute is Olaf, one my in laws brought back from their recent trip to Disney.

Now these lights were crazy long, so Pete decided to just wrap it around our bookcase and letter board until it finished, and I love it, like our own little grotto!

This wooden snowman is so cute, I bought him last year from the range, but believe they have it again in stores this year!

And how is Christmas complete without a big bowl of choccies. Although ours our running light already and its only the third.

A new purchase for this year are these beautiful stockings from matalan. I love that they are personalized, and think them hanging from their staircase looks lovely.

Next we let Jacob pick our tree for his room, browsing in b & q yesterday, we came across green, white and pink 3 ft trees for £2 each! Madness! J picked a bright pink one which i absolutely love, and we let him decorate it how he liked, with some old baubles that we used last year, and instead of a star he choose his favourite hat to go on the top. He makes me laugh so much!

And then lastly we have a small 4 ft tree in our bedroom, which I’ve decorated with Green & Bronze decorations!

My favourite being this bauble from Sainsburys.

I hope you liked this snippet of how we’ve decorated for Christmas! <3
