Adding a little spring into my step

We’re here it’s officially spring, and apart from today the weather has been absolutely glorious! Spring and autumn are my favourite seasons, I love the transitions and the colour changes everywhere. So I thought I’d share with you a few things I’ve been doing to help welcome spring in!

First thing is flowers. Garden centres are my absolute happy place, I don’t care if that makes me sound like a 90 year old, I love them, and spring time is the perfect time to start getting the garden back into shape ready for those bbq’s and summer parties! And if you don’t have a garden there’s nothing stopping you buying some fresh flowers or house plants!

Here’s a little look into the blooms we bought at the weekend, that I’ve popped around the house & bedded into the garden!

We are very lucky to have a very bright lounge, the sun pours in so it’s been bliss having the back doors open the past week or so, and what makes it even better for me is having a vase of fresh flowers. Buying flowers each week does add up – so I treat myself a couple of times a month, and when I don’t I have pretty fake flowers in a blue vase. I also change up my candles depending on the seasons, right now I’m loving the fruity scents and vanilla is always a big hit!

We’ve also recently bought a new sofa, our old one was just that – old. It didn’t sit right, the colour had gotten grubby, so we treated ourselves to a new charcoal grey (which I’m obsessed with) and now spring is around the corner (hopefully here) I’ve spruced it with some bright cushions, the mustard yellow I found in Asda 2 for £14 (bargain!) and they bring a little something to the lounge!

Another thing I like to do is a huge spring clean, not just a tidy but a full hinch deep clean (if you know, you know – and if you don’t where have you been?) it just makes you feel so good, getting rid of old junk, cleaning all the skirting boards and banisters, hoovering away the cobwebs right in the corner of the living room. Also a little tip (another one from Mrs hinch) I’ve been loving spritzing my fabrics, with 1 cap Lenor and the rest water in a spray bottle. It smells divine and keeps the sofa and curtains smelling beaut!

Now the house is up together and the gardens nearly there – a couple other things I’ve done this month are to make myself feel good, and to put a literal spring in my step. First is I bought a new perfume – buying a new one always does wonders for me, it makes me feel good and this one is just gorgeous – a billy bargain from Aldi, and it’s a dupe of the gorgeous pomegranate jo malone!

Lastly I changed my hair, most like to go lighter when it comes to the warmer months but instead I’ve gone back to my more natural roots and I really love it and It’s made me feel a lot better about myself. Sometimes self care is just the most important tip, and for me it’s as equally important to spring clean myself as well as my home (if that makes sense!)

Now let’s hope and pray together the frost goes away and the sun comes back out ready for Easter!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this little insight into what I’ve been up to with the warmer weather approaching, and catch you on Friday for a foodie post! Xo
