* We were Gifted tickets to Marwell for the purpose of this review.
If you’ve been reading here for a while then you’ll know Marwell Zoo is a firm favourite with my family, especially as I remember trips when I was little, and to now get get to take my boys and see it through their eyes is wonderful! Our last trip to Marwell we saw their brickosaurs event, and we were blown away with how much detail had gone into to it.
This time we were excited to go and visit the animals whilst the Supersized! Event was taking place, and of course it did not dissapoint! Featuring up to 30 models around the park including a 3metre turantula and a 2metre cobra (just watch out, it spits!)

Each creature is absolutely jaw dropping, and the amount of effort and time that goes into building each one shows. These giant brick creatures are on display until 1st November and an amazing addition to the park! My favourite being the three deep sea creatures – so keep an eye out for them!

Marwell homes over 140 different species of animals. We spent the entire day wandering around the park, enjoying the tropical House, stopping for an ice cream and watching the meerkats.
Marwell is one of my absolute favourite days out. Its perfect for the kids, but equally as wonderful for the older ones!
I know at the moment with all the crazy and scary times happening, I’m always a little anxious about how places will be with distancing and cleanliness. Marwell are only accepting pre bookings along with a smaller amount of visitors per day. Some enclosures have been changed to fit restrictions better and indoors you must wear a mask. We felt safe and comfortable throughout, and ensured we could feel that bit of normality that we so crave at the moment.
A huge thank you to Marwell for having us, it was the perfect day out to end to the summer holidays for us.
